The first project for ETEC665 Introduction to Digital Media in Education course was to create an infographic design with the following prompt:
The Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) has hired you to create an infographic for their upcoming road safety campaign. The infographic must inform all road users about general road safety. Help them recognize and understand how to stay safe on shared roads.
We were to apply elements and principles of design effectively to convey the road safety message in a compelling way
My Design Solution
For this infographic, I decided to tell a story by depicting an intersection where all road users meet.
The infographic begins with a key message that road safety is everyone’s responsibility and presents statistics that concern all road users to capture their attention. It then provides safety tips for drivers and other road users.
The design of the infographic is simple and makes use of shapes and tones that give a warm impression. The colour palette of the infographic is inspired by the CAA logo to stay on brand.
