For the final project of ETEC665 Introduction to Digital Media in Education course, we were to design and develop a learning program in Articulate Rise, using existing reports, visual assets and written materials. I chose to work with the 2019-2020 Impact Report from TOMS.
Design Process & Considerations
The first task in redesigning the static impact report into an interactive learning experience for this project was to consider how to re-structure the information so that it suits the medium and the target audience.
Then, I analyzed the content to determine what information to keep, how to chunk the information, and where I can include interactivity and engagement to support learning .
Some examples of interactivity I added include the following:
- Interactive infographics to provide different levels of details
- Tabs and accordions to group and fit information in limited space
- GIFs to visually highlight information
- Knowledge checks for engagement and retention of key messaging
Overall, I kept the design simple and clean to reduce cognitive load, select images that support the content, and used fonts and colours that align with the company’s branding.
